Initially, the National Institute of Design Bangalore offered master courses only in 2 specialisations namely Design for Digital Experience and Design for Retail Experience. At present, NID Bangalore offers M.Des. programmes in the disciplines of Design for Retail Experience, Digital Game Design, Information Design, Interaction Design, and Universal Design. The interested candidates who want to apply for these courses must appear in the NID DAT entrance exam to become eligible. After qualifying the exam, the candidates can fill out the application form online and pay the application fee. National Institute of Design Bangalore Courses 2024

The NID Bangalore admission process involves an entrance exam followed by a studio test and an interview. Candidates can apply online through the official website of the National Institute of Design Bangalore admission in the M.Des. course. The applications are available on the website from the month of October. A merit list is prepared after the results of DAT prelims for each category. Based on the merit list, candidates are called for DAT Mains. Thereafter, based on the results of DAT Mains, candidates are shortlisted for each discipline offered by NID Bangalore.

• For admission in M.Des. programmes in NID Bangalore, the candidates should have completed a bachelor’s degree course from a recognised college/university. The candidates who have done a full-time diploma in fine arts/design/applied arts/architecture are also eligible to apply for the course.
• The candidate should not be more than 30 years of age at the time of application.
• Candidates should clear the entrance exam i.e. NID DAT.
• The entrance exam will be conducted in two steps for NID Bangalore admission to M.Des. course. Candidates have to clear the NID DAT prelims exams first and then appear for the NID DAT Mains exam.

Entrance exams for National Institute of Design, Bengaluru

For admission to NID Bengaluru, the candidates are required to clear the entrance exams of NID DAT. The candidates have to appear for both DAT prelims as well as the DAT mains exam. In NID DAT Mains, candidates are evaluated on the basis of their material handling aptitude along with the knowledge of the design discipline for which they have applied for admission.
